Welcome to our little corner of creativity in the heart of Thornton-le-Dale! I’ve lived in this beautiful village since 2009, and over the years, I’ve been inspired by the incredible talent of the artists and crafters who call it home. Their creativity sparked the idea for a shop that celebrates local skills, encourages learning, and invites everyone, beginners and experienced makers alike, to explore their own creative side.
Our shop is a mix of books, crafts, and inspiration. You’ll find books for all ages, beginner-friendly craft kits, and a small haberdashery section with wool, needles, and essential supplies. But we’re more than just a shop, we’re a space to learn, try new things, and connect with others.
We have a purpose-built studio for small workshops, so everyone gets a chance to learn at their own pace and leave feeling confident with a new skill. And in our cozy seating area, known as the “Cozy Nook,” community members can meet, chat, and share ideas over a cup of tea or coffee.
Opening in Thornton-le-Dale also gives me the opportunity to contribute to the community I’ve been part of for over a decade. It’s a place where creativity is visible, accessible, and celebrated, and where the shop can inspire people of all ages to pick up a new skill, make something with their own hands, and connect with others who share their passion.
For me, Thornton-le-Dale isn’t just a location, it’s a community that nurtures creativity, and it’s the perfect place to bring this craft and book shop to life.
